Although I came to Future Image Designs through a recommendation from CertainTeed for a siding project that we were planning, it was my experience meeting them that led me to hire them. Undoubtedly we interviewed a number of potential contractors, went through the typical discussion on colors, styles, options, etc. However, Mario Nearchou, the owner of Future Image Designs was the only contractor to spend time with us, take measurements, walk the property, inspected the structure of the house and the roof for potential impact to the project, and provided an estimate that he met without exception. So we agreed on a start date. And he arrived with a larger team day one for demolition, and kept a smaller team throughout the project, not to mention Mario arriving every morning to start the day, answer any questions, and ending the day ensure the site was clean, including our neighbor’s property.
During a recent windstorm a piece of our siding was dangling from the peak of our house. Despite having completed our siding job six years ago, I called Mario and asked him if he could fix our problem. Significantly, he immediately answered and came in two days and he repaired the siding at NO CHARGE. Undeniably, his commitment to customer service is truly outstanding. Unlike many of their competitors, this company is flawless and is always concerned with the customer. It is almost unheard of. Accordingly, as a homeowner of 45 years, this is a unique experience and I am truly grateful. Chiefly want to say thanks to Mario and Future Image Designs.
Future Image Designs redesigned my whole house, new gutters, front and back door. And let me tell you, Mario and his crew went above and beyond. Basically Mario was very helpful with materials and color selection. Because he is very professional and knowledgeable, his service was excellent and his crew was very hardworking! Roofs aren’t magic, meaning they don’t last forever. Why should they? They take a literal beating from the sun, rain, snow, wind, I mean you name it. It’s all the stuff you don’t want hitting you, right? So how can you can you complain when over time this thing that’s been protecting you and all your earthly possessions needs some repairing or a flat out replacement. Okay, okay, so how do you know when it’s time for a new roof? Here are some quick signs:
Age
Most asphalt shingle roofs last about 20–25 years. If yours is older than that, you’re probably due for a replacement.
Missing or curling shingles
Take a look. Are shingles curling up, cracked, or even missing? That’s a red flag.
Leaks or water damage
What’s that up on your ceiling or up in your attic? Is it water? And did it just rain? You see this and you know it is time to call us to get a new roof.
Sagging
Stand back and look at your roof’s lines. If you see any sagging or drooping, that’s a sign of structural issues—get it checked out soon.
Granules in gutters
If you find lots of shingle granules in your gutters, the shingles are probably breaking down.
Daylight in the attic
Go up to your attic during daylight hours. If there is any sunlight at all creeping through those boards, then it stands to reason water can creep in too. It means your roof is broke, you need a new one!
